A Frozen Night: VR Experience at the Fair Maid’s House

Journey to 1965 Antarctica with ‘A Frozen Night’, our 30-minute virtual reality experience. Immerse yourself in a reconstruction of Base E on Stonington Island, a pivotal dog sledging outpost established in 1946. You’ll experience the unique challenges and beauty of undertaking Antarctic fieldwork, embarking on a dog sledge expedition into the Antarctic Peninsula. Bringing a true story from the archives to life, the experience is narrated by those who once inhabited the UK’s southernmost base.

In 1910 the British Antarctic Expedition, led by Captain Robert F Scott, embarks from Lyttleton, New Zealand on a quest to become the first to reach the South Pole.
