Gift Aid

If you pay UK tax it helps us enormously if you fill in a Gift Aid Declaration, and it costs you nothing. Gift Aid allows the UKAHT to reclaim the income tax you have already paid on any donations you make. This means the UKAHT receives an extra £25 for every £100 you give. If you pay a higher rate of tax, your tax bill will be reduced by the difference between that and the basic rate of tax, therefore saving you money. The scheme applies whether donations are one-off or regular (including membership), and whether made by cash, cheque, standing order or any other means including foreign currency. If you are a UK tax payer and would like to Gift Aid your donation or membership payment, please select the Gift Aid option when completing your purchase online or print the Gift Aid Declaration form and return it to us at the address listed on the form.

Leaving a Legacy

Legacies provide a valuable income to the Trust and further enable the Trust to continue its excellent work. If you would like to leave a legacy to the Trust, please click here for an information sheet.

Working with the British Antarctic Survey the Trust has secured arguably the difinitive map of the Antarctic Peninsula and environs. No traveller to the Antarctic Peninsula would want to be without one.  In addition we sell four larger scale maps to make up coverage of the whole of the Antarctic Peninsula as far south as Marguerite Bay.

We have a number of best-selling souvenirs that we can now make available online.

The Trust has a few of its own publications and also sells selected others.  But we also produce an extensive book list of books available about Antarctic Peninsula heritage.

To commemorate the Centenary of Granting of Letters Patent in 2008, the British Antarctic Territory issued its first ever legal tender commemorative coins. A Currency Ordinance of 1990 makes provision for coinage for the Territory.

Since then a series of coins have been produced with more planned.

The coins are available in cupro-nickel and sterling silver versions in £2 denominations. All coins feature the HM effigy on the obverse. The sterling silver version comes in a presentation case with a certificate of authenticity signed by the Administrator of the British Antarctic Territories. Although the coins are legal tender within the Territory, they will appeal mainly to collectors and Antarctic tourists.

The Antarctic and Arctic tartans were designed to represent the colours of the polar regions by Ros Jones of Mull.  You can read more about how our tartans were designed and find out how you can get kilting material here
